When Leanne and I first spoke earlier last year, we knew our personalities were a perfect fit for their wedding. The week that we spoke was the first time I went to Gatlinburg! Their wedding originally was going to take place in Raleigh, but due to COVID restrictions the couple decided to do a romantic getaway in the Smoky Mountains with their families with a beautiful ceremonial overlook of the mountains.
We came in on Saturday midday to a warm welcome from a loving family. There were tons of drinking, pool, pizza and wholesome bonding time with everyone involved. We learned so much about their families that day, and the night we went back to our room we both felt like we were a part of their family.
Sunday was the big wedding day. We started the day doing a starbucks run for Leanne which took so much time due to it being the same weekend spring break was. Once we arrive the girls were upstairs getting ready, drinking mimosas, playing music, laughing and loving the moment. It is so easy to get so wrapped up in the excitement of the day that we rarely appreciate the moment. The best thing about being a wedding photographer is being able to look through this couples gallery and remembering these amazing moments and this incredible experience.
Once the couples were ready it was time for the big ceremony. Taken place on the deck of the cabin overlooking the beautiful Smokies, we were surrounded with with the core of people who really love these two. Once their ceremony was over and the formal photos finished we got to take badass photos of all the guys smoking cigars on the upper deck of their cabin. We ended our day taking the couple down the mountain to a beautiful scenic area for photos and intimate video clips that we could give them for years to come.
Thank you both Leanne and Will for such an incredible and unique wedding experience, you both (and your families) hold a special place in our hearts forever
