Sandra Daniela Vargas, the absolute joy of my life. You have such an incredible life story full of resilience, excellence, intelligence and compassion.
Born in Bogotá Colombia, you grew up with entertainment in your heart and soul. You spent your early days pursuing art and theatre. You always dreamed of being an actress and also being an extra in a J Balvin music video. Your life drastically changed once your family moved to the United States. A huge change for you culturally with a massive language barrier and chilly Connecticut climate. Moving to a foreign land where you do not know the common language, customs and traditions seems like an overwhelming task in your early 20s. Your early 20s are supposed to be the most exciting time of your life, yet here you are away from everyone and everything you’ve ever known in your short life. You persevered.
You have told me stories of being terrified of going through fast food lines because you were not fluent in English. You spent countless hours and days studying and practicing with family members who had spent their entire life in America to learn to speak English. Your mind and your intelligence really shows through, it is so difficult to learn a second language as an adult, but you overcame that obstacle just as you always do when a challenge is in front of you.
You moved to North Carolina with your wonderful parents and began again for a third time. You got a job at as a social worker even before you had a car. Walking to and from work and saved every penny to buy your first car entirely in cash. You registered for school and began taking college courses. You have such a strong desire to learn and want to use your time here on Earth to make a difference in so many people’s lives. And then I met you.
My first thoughts of you were remarkable. I loved your accent, the way you dressed and the way you carried yourself with purpose and passion. I remember that moment like it was yesterday. We had instant chemistry and your beauty took my breath away, just like it does to this very day. I truly believe you are the best thing that has ever happened to me. Your passion and love for people, life and happiness has shaped me in such a positive way. I will be forever grateful for the love you have given me. I attribute so much of our successes because of you. You make the perfect life partner and the perfect business partner. I love you with my entire heart and I am so lucky that you are mine (and of course baby Thor is MINE NOW!) - Colby
MUSHY POST ABOUT COLBY, because I loooove this man :) My love, my best friend, the one that doesn’t complete me but instead inspires me to complete myself every single day. Born in NC, he was always a creative young man since day one. One of his first passions in life was to learn how to play guitar when he was a little boy. He is a very talented musician and I absolutely love every time he plays for me. MY HEART MELTS.
Later in life he decided to go to college to get his bachelor’s degree in business while working 60+ hours a week and still being a full time student. I can’t even imagine how hard this was for him but he DID IT, graduated making himself and his family so proud. A little after this he got a job as an operations manager for a furniture company, he was proud of this but deep inside of him he knew he wasn’t completely happy just doing this. He has always been a creative with music and photography. He knew at some point is in his life he was going to be able to combine his two passions while being able to enjoy life and making the best out of it.
Then, I met youI had the butterflies since day one when I met this man. YESSS I know how cheese lol. His looks, personality, love and compassion for others. It GOT ME. I absolutely love how we both were so different but so similar at the same time. Then I made the move. (I made the first move, he didn’t lol) I knew I wanted to be with this man since day one. Here I am, couple of years later. I can’t imagine a life without him. -Daniela
